THE HISTORY OF
When gold was discovered in Colorado’s South Platte River Valley in 1858, settlers from all over the country soon arrived. First, the community was known as DeSpain Junction, then Darell Park, and then Harris, Colorado. Eventually, in 1891, the town was incorporated as Westminster, in honor of Westminster University.
